Pagan Sources of Islam Part 1

Pagan Sources of Islam

Part 1

[Studies on Islam]

Islam is basically a mixture of the ancient Arab religion of the moon god Allah, other pre-Islamic Arab pagan rites, with some Jewish and Christian beliefs, heresies, and terminology thrown in.

PREVIEW

Islam is basically a combination of 7th century Arabian pagan rites and beliefs. Most of them very old even back then. To these Muhammad, a self-proclaimed prophet of the pagan moon god Allah, added some non-Arabic Judaeo-Christian terms, like "prophet" and "apostle", and the acceptance of the Scriptures in an effort to attract Jews and Christians. However, since the Bible was not completely translated into Arabic until the 9th century, Muhammad's understanding of the Bible was very confused. He learned it by word of mouth from heretical cults and had no concept of the chronology of the Bible. Thus he believed that certain Bible characters lived at the same time. This explains many gross errors in the Koran, including its very twisted theology.

Consequently, Islam is basically a mixture of the ancient Arab religion of the moon god Allah, other pre-Islamic Arab pagan rites, with some Jewish and Christian beliefs, heresies, and terminology thrown in.

PRE-ISLAMIC ARABIAN RITES IN ISLAM

* The Koran refers to people, places, things, and events which are not explained or defined within the Koran itself. They were not explained because it was assumed that the people hearing the Koran already knew them from their native culture.

* Some passages in the Koran would be unintelligible without resources to pre-Islamic history.

* Muslim scholars use pre-Islamic history to explain parts of the Koran, thus it is both legitimate and proper to use pre-Islamic history to explain Islam and the Koran.

* Muslim scholars use pre-Islamic history when it comes to such things as "the She-Camel, the Elephant Army, the Twelve Springs, the Youths in the Cave, the Blind Man" and many other things found in the Koran.

* Mecca was a pre-Islamic pagan center of worship.

* The Kabah shrine in Mecca was a pagan temple filled with 360 idols.

* Archeologists have found three other ancient Kabahs in Arabia.

* The pagans prayed by bowing down toward Mecca several times a day.

* They made a pilgrimage to Mecca.

* When they got to Mecca, they ran between two hills.

* They ran around the Kabah seven times.

* They kissed and caressed a large black stone on the wall of the Kabah.

* They sacrificed an animal.

* They threw a magical number of stones at

a pillar of the devil.

* They held their public meetings on Friday instead of Saturday or Sunday.

* They fasted during the day and feasted at night for one month called "Ramadan".

* The pagan fast began and ended with the moon in its crescent phase.

* They performed ritual washing before prayers.

* As one of their ritual washings before prayer, they snort water up and then out of their nose.

* They cut off the hands of thieves.

* They forbade marrying sisters.

* They forbade the eating of swine flesh.

* According to Arabian history, the Kabah at Mecca

was built by Kosia, the pagan great-grandfather of Muhammad.

* The word "Al-Ilah" was used by pagan Arabs in reference to one of the gods worshiped at the Kabah.

* The word "Al-Ilah" was shortened into "Allah."

* The moon-god was called "Al-Ilah" and then

"Allah" by some Arab pagans in Southern Arabia.

* Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat were worshiped by the pagan Arabs as "The Daughters of Allah."

* Muhammad's father lived and died as a pagan and yet the word "Allah" was part of his name "Abd Allah."

* A Muslim's scholar, Abd Allah Yusuf Ali, points out in his translation of the Koran that the moon was worshiped as a god by pagan Arabs.

* Many of the pagan rites associated with the worship of Allah and his daughters were incorporated into the Koran and are now part of Islam.

INVALID AND UNSUPPORTED CLAIMS IN THE KORAN ABOUT BIBLICAL CHARACTERS

* In pre-Islamic Arabian genealogies, Ishmael is nowhere mentioned as the father of the Arabs.

* Abraham, the father of Ishmael, was not an Arab.

* Hagar, the mother of Ishmael, was an Egyptian and thus not an Arab.

* Since his mother and his father were not Arabs, Ishmael was not an Arab.

* Ishmael could not be the "Father" of the Arabs because they already existed before he was born.

* According to the historical and literary evidence, Abraham and Ishmael lived in the land of Israel.

* They never lived in Mecca.

* They never built the Kabah.

* They never established the rites connected with the Kabah such as the pilgrimage.

SUMMARY

* The religion of Islam has adopted the name, the rites, and the crescent moon symbol of the pagan Arab moon-god Allah.

* Most of the material found in the Koran can be traced back to pre-Islamic pagan Arabian religions.

* Infidels are recorded in the Koran as saying that Muhammad took old wive's tales and myths and put them into the Koran (K 25:4,5).

GLOSSARY

* Islam originally is a political revolution led by Muhammad Bin Abd Allah in Arabia in the 7th century. Islam was not derived from the Arabic word "salam", which means "peace" as Muslims claim. It was derived from "istislam" which means "surrender or die", the word Muhammad shouted while pursing his opposition. His militant commands and pagan beliefs are contained in the Koran, the book of Islam.

* Mecca is the city in Arabia where Muhammad began his campaign (610-622 AD) to gain followers. At that time, because he had no military support, he took no action against people who chose not to follow him.

* Medina is the city in Arabia where Muhammad moved after his mother's tribe offered him military support. In Medina (622-632 AD) he and his mother's tribe waged wars to force people to follow them or be killed. In the Koran, one can clearly see the difference in Muhammad's tolerant teachings in Mecca and his harsh teachings in Medina. Today, Muslims continue to wage wars, wherever they have political power, to force people into Islam.

* The Koran is the book of Islam that Muhammad claimed was revealed to him by Allah, the moon god of Arabs.

(K 1:1) stands for (Koran chapter 1: verse 1)

* The Bukhary is a collection of Muhammad's sayings.

(B 1:1) stands for (Bukhary volume 1: saying 1)

* Jihad, the holy war, is the most sacred duty of Muslims and is carried out by militant Muslims, politically known as terrorists. Their goal is to spread Islam by force and, as instructed by the Koran, to kill whoever refuses to convert.
